Matthew Leef
Partner
Mr. Leef was born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario. He graduated with Highest Honours from Carleton University and completed his education at Queen’s University earning his Juris Doctor.
He then moved to Sudbury in 2012 to complete his articles at Weaver, Simmons and has remained with the firm becoming a partner in 2017.
Mr. Leef’s practice is focused on civil litigation, the majority of which involves insurance defence related claims. He has successfully appeared as counsel in trials and motions before the Small Claims Court, Superior Court, and Ontario Court of Appeal.
Outside of the office, Mr. Leef enjoys competitive running, having completed five half-marathons and one full marathon since moving to Sudbury. He is currently training for his second full marathon with a view to qualifying for the Boston Marathon.
