Evan R. L. Raymond is an associate at Weaver, Simmons LLP, practising corporate and commercial law, real estate, estate planning, and municipal law. He earned his Juris Doctor from Queen’s University, where he worked at the Queen’s Business Law Clinic, assisting start-ups, small businesses and not-for-profits with corporate governance, employment matters and commercial agreements. Before joining the firm as an associate, Evan spent two summers at Weaver, Simmons and completed his articles there.

Born in Sudbury, Evan takes pride in assisting individuals, businesses, not-for-profits and municipalities throughout Northern Ontario. His corporate and commercial practice includes advising clients on business transactions and preparing asset and share purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements, security documents, and commercial leases. Evan also assists clients with real estate transactions and municipal matters, including land-use planning, governance and by-law issues.

Evan’s estate practice includes preparing wills, powers of attorney, and trusts, as well as assisting with probate applications and advising trustees on estate and trust administration.

Outside the office, Evan enjoys being an active member of the community. During his undergraduate and law school years, he played and coached varsity rugby, winning an Ontario University Athletics championship with the University of Guelph in 2021 and earning a national silver medal as a member of the Queen’s University coaching staff. While at Queen’s Law, Evan also tutored and founded several student clubs, including the Queen’s Law Tortfeasors. He now coaches the Laurentian University Rugby Club.
