Mr. Carré provides legal advice on all aspects of human resources issues. This includes performance management issues, including workplace investigations, in addition to advice on severance and termination obligations. He is also called upon to draft, interpret and implement employment contracts and in particular, to enforce restrictive covenants. He also provides advice on human rights matters, in addition to Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) matters.
Mr. Carré also works in collaboration with the firm’s Corporate and Commercial Group in order to provide guidance and advice on labour and employment issues and considerations surrounding mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Carré has extensive experience litigating cases at all levels. He has represented clients in the areas of wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal and other civil litigation, as well as litigating before administrative tribunals such as the Human Rights Tribunal, Labour Relations Board, Employment Standards Adjudicators, Workers Compensation Board/Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal, Occupational Health and Safety Adjudicators and the Social Insurance Tribunal. He also has extensive knowledge and experience in representing clients in complex matters involving employee theft, fraud and dishonesty claims. In addition to providing general advice on managing the workplace misconduct, he has assisted clients in pursuing claims against employees in the Superior Court of Justice for the recovery of monies improperly taken.
